State employees are divided into 21 bargaining units. State Disability Insurance SDI covers employees in bargaining units 1, 3, 4, 11, 14, 15, 17, 20, and Nonindustrial Disability Insurance NDI covers excluded employees and rank-and-file employees in bargaining units 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 16, 18, and For more information, visit Nonindustrial Disability Insurance. You cannot choose your disability program.
It is determined by your employment position and bargaining unit. If you are unable to work due to a non-work-related disability or family leave and are receiving SDI benefits, the state will pay the full premiums and any applicable dependent coverage for your health, dental, and vision benefits.
The state will recover your portion of the premiums paid through an accounts receivable. You can use 40 hours of accrued leave credits per month while receiving SDI benefits. Also, you can use accrued vacation, annual leave, Combined Time Off, holiday credit, personal leave, or sick leave balances to cover the benefit waiting period, per the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding. Paid Family Leave PFL provides benefits for those who need time off work to care for a seriously ill family member or to bond with a child through birth, adoption, or foster care placement.
The employer will pay their portion of the health benefits premium for up to 26 weeks. If you are out on a Family Medical Leave Act FMLA leave that runs concurrently with SDI and you have not returned to work after 26 weeks, you will be required to pay the provider for both the employee and employer share of the premium to continue health benefits.
Managers and supervisors participate in the NDI program both the regular and enhanced benefit levels. If you have not returned to work after the 26 weeks, in order to continue the health benefits, you will be required to directly pay the provider for both the employee and employer share of the health benefits premiums.
Managerial and supervisory employees participate in the Non-Industrial Disability Insurance program both the regular and enhanced benefit levels. Your Disability Insurance DI benefits are not reportable for tax purposes with one exception. If you are receiving Unemployment Insurance UI benefits, become unable to work due to a disability, and begin receiving DI benefits, your DI benefits are substituted for your UI benefits and will be reportable for tax purposes.
If DI benefits are reportable, a notice with the first benefit payment will be sent to you explaining that the benefits are being reported to the IRS.
In January, we will provide you with a G form showing the reportable amounts paid no more than the original UI maximum and forward a copy of the G to the IRS. If you are working reduced hours or modified duty due to a disability or family leave and you have a wage loss, you may be eligible for benefits. If you are receiving SDI benefits, you will not accrue annual leave credits unless you work partial hours.
Lump sum payments for pay e. So there should be no SDI deduction withheld from lump sum payments. This includes lump sum payments for vacation cash out or k plans. The SDI deductions stop.
The funds are not returned to you. TTY: If you are in a covered bargaining unit and are otherwise eligible for SDI, you can file claims and receive benefits. Hii, I Wanna buy a ptz camera with the ndi workflow, and I am choosing between ptz optics and NewTek ptz. Do you guys help me out to choose the best solution? Hi, I have tested both recently. But if you wish to stream to a live audience conference center style, filming and displaying on the big screen the live performance in the same room pure NDI might work but I would recommend to stick to SDI for this. For Live Streaming only, where you can accept delays, you can go with either.
This was my use case. Please note that you will probably need a PTZ controller also if you need to move the cams outside of your presets for LIVE performance, house of worship You can control it via the NDI Studio Monitor and mouse but that might be ok for testing but nothing more. Do not forget to re-sync audio also!
I have a mix of both currently and it works just fine after doing all of the tweaks. Okay niceee! I have the birddog Tested and the delay is les to the sdi. It has the same delay. Or pure NDI like birddog. VjMikey wrote: Okay niceee!

NDI is an employer paid benefit that provides partial wage replacement for employees who become disabled due to non-work related illness, injury or medical condition.
SDI is an employee-funded benefit that ranges from 0. Below are some of the questions that were answered during the presentation:. The contract that the employee is under provides for the disability insurance they are under. Yes, however, if the employee is receiving NDI benefits, the State will pay the full premiums for an employee and any applicable dependent coverage for health, dental, and vision benefits during that time. Is there a waiting period when applying for these benefits? If so, what are they and can leave credits be used to cover the waiting period?
Yes, there is a waiting period. For NDI, leave credits may be used to cover the waiting period. PAGE 2. Search this site. Home Information Contact Us. Update Us. Next Wave. Login to M. M ember. However, benefits for both programs cannot be paid on the same day.
There are circumstances when you are eligible for both, such as going from one bargaining unit to another. Eligible employees will be able to take leave to care for a seriously ill family member or bond with a new child. If you are eligible for NDI-FCL, you can file a claim within one year of the birth, adoption, or placement of your new child. For example, if you are a caregiver to an eligible family member from March to Novemberyou may be eligible for six weeks of benefits starting July 1, You would not be eligible for benefits from March through June 30, You can file both claims, but are only eligible to receive a maximum of 6 weeks 42 days in a month period.
Both claims are cumulative and may not be used on the same day. Only excluded employees on annual leave may be eligible for these benefits. NDI-FCL provides up to six weeks of benefits in a 12 month period for employees who need time off work to care for a seriously ill family member or bond with a new child through birth, adoption, or foster care placement. ENDI provides up to 26 weeks of benefits for a qualifying medical disability and employees must serve a 7 or 10 day waiting period before benefits are paid.
The procedures for applying for these benefits, the roles and responsibilities of the personnel offices, and how the benefits are paid will be the same as the ENDI program. Network Device Interface
I'm planning to do exactly that test. I have high hopes for NDI vs. So let's share our results, to compare. I had the following setup:.
Where I connected a SDI source with frame numbers to a splitter. One of the outputs of the splitter was connected to a computer equipped with a capture card. The other output from the splitter was connected directly to another identical monitor. The both screens were filmed with a Hz camera so I could measure the frame offset. For p60 and p The type of content didn't really matter. At this time I used NDI v2 and the current version 3 is probably slightly more efficient.
I will try to find some time and test this with the updated SDK version and also p60 and p60 resolutions. So if 4 frames are acceptable then NDI is much more cost efficient since most of your servers doesn't need capture cards. Out of interest did you use the same capture card type Datapath?
Please update this thread once you have had a chance to test the BirdDog unit, very interested to find out how these work out. We briefly tested the BirdDog and first noticed that it's only using TCP NDI v2 or older so we could only stream p60 to computers before frames started to drop. Probably hitting the bandwidth limit of the 1 gigabit network. After 8 streams it gave up. So don't expect it work with larger clusters and it's probably intended as a peer-to-peer device.
Didn't measure any latency this time. You can post now and register later. If you have an account, sign in now to post with your account. Note: Your post will require moderator approval before it will be visible. Paste as plain text instead. Only 75 emoji are allowed.

Clear editor.Network Device Interface NDI is a royalty-free software standard developed by NewTek to enable video-compatible products to communicate, deliver, and receive broadcast-quality video in a high-quality, low-latency manner that is frame-accurate and suitable for switching in a live production environment.
NDI was developed by NewTek, and is available to anyone with a royalty-free license. NDI 3. NDI carries video, multichannel uncompressed audio and metadata. Metadata messages can be sent in both directions allowing the sender and receiver to message one another over the connection with arbitrary metadata in XML form.
NDI® and NDI|HX for network video production
NDI also allows senders to determine the number of connected receivers, so they can skip unnecessary processing and network bandwidth utilisation when there are no NDI receiver clients connected. NDI Receivers can opt to connect to various combinations of streams, to support things like audio-only or metadata-only connections where video is not required. There are clear differences in the technology used by these protocols.
NDI 4. NDI devices from other vendors followed during In order to quickly bring these products into the NDI space, NewTek created a new driver to replace the existing AirSend driver, which could be installed on these existing AirSend compatible devices, instantly converting them to NDI compatible devices with no change required by the original CG vendors.
Version 3. NDI HX uses a lower data rate making it easier to use in bandwidth limited connections. NDI is also used within cloud based production systems with its compressed video and non-reliance on multicast making it a perfect fit for cloud based data centres like AWS and Azure. While NDI itself doesn't require these instructions, applications might.
The NDI Stream itself is formed at the stream consumption end via the platform specific NDI HX driver, presenting the same uncompressed data to the application software consuming the NDI source regardless of original HX source hardware and compression. NDI HX2 is a purer implementation of h. With NDI 4.
This takes advantage of the hardware TCP acceleration in silicon which helps lower spec processors handle heavy network load, in contrast to UDP which does not benefit from the hardware acceleration. NDI Supports arbitrary metadata as XML blocks, embedded in video and audio frames, as well as stand-alone metadata frames. The content of these metadata blocks form 3 families. As the future of video moves towards more network based distribution solutions, NDI is a flexible and versatile solution, allowing multiple video streams on a shared connection. NDI supports high quality, low latency, frame-accurate video over standard Ethernet networks. NewTek announced NDI inand the protocol was made available for public use early Inthe 3 rd version of the protocol was released, adding multicast support, a high efficiency mode called NDI-HX and other features.
NDI is supported by a wide range of manufacturers and developers of both hardware and software. As it benefits any network-connected video device and software, you find video mixers, graphics systems, capture cards, and many other production devices with NDI support.
Here are a few of the major ones:.
The required bandwidth for NDI transmission will vary, depending on resolution and frame rate. The NDI encoding algorithm itself is resolution and frame-rate independent, and supports resolutions up to 4K and beyond. With its high-end performance over standard GigE networks, it makes it possible to transition facilities to an incredibly versatile IP video production pipeline without negating existing investments in SDI cameras and infrastructure, or costly new high-speed network infrastructures.
NDI uses compression to enable transmission of video streams in the network. On a typical, modern Intel-based i7 processor, the codec is able to compress a x video signal at frames per second using a single core. Uniquely, and importantly, NDI is the first ever codec to provide multi-generational stability. This means that once a video signal is compressed, there is no further loss. NDI has a technical latency of 16 video scan lines, although in practice, most implementations would be one field of latency.
NDI compresses the video streams so that the NDI video streams are distributed through the network at a ratio to an uncompressed video of the same format. NDI supports all resolutions, frame rates and video streams, with and without alpha channel.
The internal pipeline of the codec is maintained entirely at bit or better. NDI works on standard IP based networks, where the requirements to make specialized configuration is close to zero.
This is because the NDI-enabled devices behave like any other device connected to the network. While the NDI integration is designed to be as painless as possible, there are some important elements to know what NDI does.
